ADVOCIN Offers Treatment for BVD
US - ADVOCIN™ (danofloxacin mesylate) is now available from Pfizer Animal Health — offering a cost-effective fluoroquinolone alternative for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease (BRD).

With a withdrawal time of just four days and a single 2 mL/100 lb. dose, ADVOCIN offers a convenient alternative for cattle veterinarians and producers treating BRD. ADVOCIN brings veterinarians what they expect from a fluoroquinolone and can help producers increase their profit margins.

“Pfizer Animal Health is excited to offer veterinarians and cattle producers another tool for treating BRD,” says J.P. Pollreisz, DVM, Pfizer Animal Health Cattle Technical Services. “BRD is one of the most important challenges the beef industry faces. Choosing the right treatment is critical to cattle health, performance and the bottom line of any operation.”

ADVOCIN is part of the fluoroquinolone class of antimicrobials, which can quickly reach a high concentration at the site of infection. Combined with the four-day withdrawal time of ADVOCIN, producers have increased flexibility to treat animals during the entire feeding period. ADVOCIN is available in 250 mL bottles, offering about 25 treatments per bottle based on a 500-pound animal.

With ADVOCIN as part of its portfolio of leading antimicrobials for cattle, Pfizer Animal Health offers a comprehensive BRD solution for veterinarians and cattle producers. ADVOCIN joins a portfolio of antimicrobial products including DRAXXIN® (tulathromycin) Injectable Solution and EXCEDE® (ceftiofur crystalline free acid) Sterile Suspension.

Important Safety Information: Federal law prohibits the extra-label use of all fluoroquinolones including ADVOCIN in food-producing animals. Not for use in cattle intended for dairy production or in calves to be processed for veal. ADVOCIN has a pre-slaughter withdrawal time of four days.
